About Me
I'm Nick La Rosa — an AI engineer and full stack developer based in Sydney. I design and build RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines, LLM-powered features using the OpenAI and Anthropic APIs, and Python backends that bring real intelligent automation to production products. This isn't wrapper work — I architect systems that integrate meaningfully into your business.
I also bring 20+ years of full stack experience across React, Next.js, Laravel, WordPress, and React Native — so I can own the full product, not just the AI layer. RAG-Powered Product Support Chatbot & Phone Interface
Built a RAG system over a WooCommerce product catalogue — ingesting product data, specs, and store content into a vector store — then wrapped it in a chatbot and phone support interface using the ChatGPT API. Customer queries get accurate, contextualised answers drawn directly from the store's own data, reducing support load and improving response quality at scale.

Automated Health Reporting Pipeline
Replaced hours of expert manual analysis with an automated pipeline that ingests online seminar transcripts, course content, and external health program materials, then correlates that knowledge against student and cohort results to generate reports, summaries, and recommendations — delivered directly to clients in plain language. Built using a retrieval-augmented generation architecture with a Python backend and vector store.

Multi-LLM Frontend for Content Creators
A frontend that routes tasks to different LLMs depending on what's needed — built to streamline the repetitive preparation work that comes with producing regular shows: scripting, summaries, research, social copy. The interface abstracts away the underlying model so users just get results. Laravel backend, React frontend, AWS infrastructure.
Custom Headless CMS (Built from Scratch)
A custom headless CMS built from scratch — managing schedules, media assets, and editorial content via API across web and mobile. The platform powers multiple clients; for one, I've built a RAG system running in the background that ingests broadcast data and listener behaviour to surface audience insights. Deployed across AWS and DigitalOcean.
Commercial WordPress Plugin Suite
Designed, built, and shipped a commercial suite of WordPress plugins sold directly to publishers — a live stream player, visual schedule manager, GA4 analytics integration, and Stripe-powered donation system. Each plugin is independently installable and configurable. This is a product, not a client job: I own the architecture, the distribution, and the revenue model.
High-Availability Headless CMS & Mobile App
The problem: a content-heavy platform that needs to reflect constantly changing data across web and mobile without downtime. The solution: a headless architecture with a custom CMS feeding a GatsbyJS frontend on Netlify and a React Native mobile app — decoupled, fast, and resilient. Any publisher with high-update-frequency content faces this problem; this is how I solved it.
Real-Time Browser-Based Media Manager
The challenge: give operators a fully browser-based tool to upload, queue, and play media in real time — no native app, no local software. Built a real-time playlist manager using Laravel and Netlify where users manage audio files and playout directly from the browser. The pattern is applicable to any operator dashboard requiring live media or asset management.
Cross-Platform Mobile Game
A cross-platform word guessing game shipped to both the Apple App Store and Google Play — built with React Native and a Laravel backend serving dynamic content. Demonstrates the full mobile delivery pipeline: concept, native build, app store submission, and live content management post-launch.
Multiplayer Mobile Game (8 Languages)
A React Native mobile game shipped to iOS and Android with multi-player support for 2–8 players on a single device, multiple difficulty modes, 20+ in-game achievements, and full localisation across 8 languages. Built with Expo for rapid cross-platform iteration. Demonstrates i18n architecture, stateful game logic, and App Store deployment at scale.
